About Lady Slipper Alpacas
I fell in love with alpacas and purchased my first 2 pregnant females in 2007. Alpaca fibre an exquisite fibre, that comes in 22 natural colours. It is warmer, softer and lighter than wool. I'm happily involved with the processing of the fibre, which includes shearing , skirting and sorting the fleece for the mills and choosing how it should be processed. It can be made in to yarn, batting, roving or felt, left it's natural colour or dyed, or blended with other natural fibres, such as silk, bamboo, merino or mohair.
Some of the yarn is made in to a variety of hand knitted or crocheted scarves, scarflettes, collars, hats, wraps, shawls, mitts, fingerless gloves, cuffs and, for the pampered dog, dog sweaters. Of course, there is always yarn for sale.
